Go Green Campaign

Go Green concept is not new for humans. Now God is also included in the play. Go Green Ganesh was one of many campaigns to mitigate the environmental risks associated with the religious practices of Hindu worshipping of Lord Ganesh.

The flyers as shown below land in my email inbox almost regularly every year. I call them good junk. They are junk  as there is no follow up emails coming from the same source to say how effective was that campaign as a result of it.

I bring this issue to the forefront to highlight that campaigns can be put together by many means, but will fail if no follow up is done to measure its success.

Those who are very involved in forwarding to others or sharing with others a lot of good happening around the world forget that no good will happen without a follow up. These sharing activities on Facebook and LinkedIn are akin to having junk mail in your mailbox or may be even worse. More often than not, the media settings on share is public by default.

Why not hold these social media founders to some kind of accountability to ensure that sharing options are by default set to those who you would think would benefit from sharing than to broadcast to the everyone in your connections to create junk – they are junk whichever you qualify it – good junk, informative junk, valuable junk etc..

So please mind my junk as my posts are shared on LinkedIn and Twitter.
