I don’t get political – can get legal

Legally speaking, who should be in charge of appointing supreme court justices? If you put that nomination process in the midst of a political system, don’t expect that process to be impartial – whatever may be the democratic process to ensure fair and square dealings with nominations.

I can put myself in the shoes of both the accuser and the accused. When I do that, I can see that we both are high profile; both have backings from either side of the thinking tanks; both will be correct and can justify their positions with many convincing reasons.

So this brings to the question, which side will win in the end – powerful or influential?

I think, may be, only those who can play the system that has been created can win. When they are sick of winning the tug of war with deceit and would know how it feels afterwards to win and how other side of the aisle would vent when the truth comes out, they fail. So those winners will become losers and the losers will become winners. The cycle repeats. The tug of war is not the solution, the rope we tug is the solution. It should be dropped. If the rope is stronger than the people holding it, it can never break. If both sides are equally strong, the rope stays where it is.

Please wait and see for my thoughts to become clear as I carve a big chunk out of the so called ‘drain the swamp’ phenomenon that now more or less feels like an attempt to ‘swamp the whole nation that cannot be drained’. When swamp itself controls both aisles, draining the swamp, I believe, is as big of an effort as the nation itself becoming a part of it.

When one swamp gets drained, the other ones may get filled up in the process. Moreover, what has been left behind after draining, may be so ugly the effort to fill it up again will start all over. While we say the words are mightier than swords, the purpose for which the words are used or abused hinges upon those who are either powerful or influential.

I believe, in this tug of war, the participants are at least sweating it out to become either winners or losers, but, the spectators are the ones who are being left out watching the spectacle with interest and how long that will continue is anybody’s guess. The best thing to do is to stop being a spectator and  hop onto one side of the rope to start tugging the rope.

If those who are already tugging the rope like you, you will be admitted. Otherwise, you will be left out.

It is equivalent of saying you are now employed. Whether it is a winning employment or not depends and changes with time.
