Need, Indeed – a different kind

I received this message today from a close friend and felt compelled to put this out on my blog. The request was so simple and the cause was too little ignore. I do not know the recipient, but should we?

“Hi Friends….

I’m in need of a favor to make a sick boy’s day a lot happier!

I have a friend from my hometown that has been battling cancer for almost 4.5 years. This is his second run with Leukemia and in a few weeks will be turning 12 years old.
…
Cole is quite a kid….I feel so blessed that I have gotten the opportunity to meet him and be a part of the goodness that he spreads to everyone! With all that he himself has gone through, he pays every good thing forward to others…which includes coat drives, salvation army collections, starting a little library in the hospital, and for a few years now collecting presents for the kids with cancer at the hospital. I wanted to flood his mailbox with birthday cards from people all over. I know last year we did this and he loved all the cards he got…. he was quite the popular guy. So if you could find a few minutes and spend a buck or so, can you please send my friend Cole a birthday card with a nice message inside? Cole’s mom (Sarah) said Cole spent many hours going through all his birthday cards last year and loved it! I want to make this one great too!
A little about Cole…he LOVES the Green Bay Packers, John Deere, and the farm. Enjoys painting, bowling, games, legos, movies and sports. (All information shared with my by facebook posts or notes from him mom—who is wonderful herself).

Please forward this on if you have any friends who might make this great day for Cole with a card. I’m sure he’ll love it!
