Why detain to sustain?

Students would clearly know what detention really amounts to. Not being able to spend fun time with friends and being alone where only the distant sounds of laughter can be heard and with an eagerness to rejoin once the detention is over. However, as soon as the detention is over, it is forgotten only to dread when the next one comes along.

Teachers believe that by detaining the misbehaving students, they can accomplish some sort of order the classroom for teaching to happen. All they want to do is to teach and sustain an environment in the classroom to make learning happen.

When you extrapolate this situation to the outside world, we have law and order officers doing the exact same thing, but the nature of misbehavior or the amount of punishment received vary by the intensity of either the crime or the impact of the crime. In this case, such an environment is perceived to be either the local community or a nation where such detentions are necessary to sustain the law and order that is necessary.

When you extrapolate this situation further, beyond the geographical boundaries, we see only one planet earth. What affects Sahara desert affects Amazon forest, what affects an earthquake near the ring of fire, affects environmental damage at some other place on earth. All this could be perceived as natural causes. But many has now understood and or vocally making it known that we as human beings are responsible for such occurrences to increase in frequency and intensity. Many may call it climate change, but I call it climate misbehavior and must be detained to sustain.

Detaining such behaviors lead us back to what we do as humans to cause it in the first place. CO2 emissions, global warming, pollution and many such alerts have been issued and we have become immune to it as we tend to believe in stories that suit our situation or the living condition we are in. We might be asked to change our perception or the understanding to help those who are trying to detain such climate misbehaviors. But unless the sustenance of the same is not perceived as a benefit, no one will listen.

Rising sea levels will affect those who are near the coast, but when many perceive that they are the residences of famous and wealthy (who are small in numbers), many do not care. They may start to wonder why their farms are not doing as good as before, but they may tend to blame it on changing weather patterns, but not on climate misbehavior.

If you wish that you need some stability in your lives to have a peaceful day either at work or at home, is it not desirable to wish the same for the world that we live in. Establishing geographic boundaries will not stop the harm coming from outside, but the education needed to understand the climate change will.
