It is interesting to see how this Royal Wedding that is taking place on April 29th unfolds. Prince Williams and Miss Kate Middleton belong to next society. Through this wedding, are they going to set a tone for the next society or do they just follow the traditional Royal wedding?
My guess is that they are going to set a tone for the next society in the way they conduct themselves while taking wows and while announcing to the world on how they want to be seen going forward.
More than hundred years back when Queen Victoria set a tone by wearing a bridal dress that set her wedding apart, she set a tone for the next generation through the chioce she made on the bridal dress. Are we going to see a similar statement made at this royal wedding? Is it going to be through the choice words used for taking the wows or is it going to be through the choice of bridal dress or through something else?
What are we going learn from this event? This event, of course, is created by us – the humans. This event is constructing the future in a way, perhaps, not seen before. Yes – the digital technology and the internet is connecting this wedding to everyone around the world in a way that could not have been imagined when Queen Victoria got married some hundred years back.
Let me take a moment to turn my attention to the destruction that mother nature is unfolding for us in Alabama. What do we learn from this?
When we are connecting through our efforts to our creations on one side, on the other side of it I am saying that we must connect through our prayers to those affected by the destructions caused by mother nature. In this case, it was the power of a Tornado, in the case of earthquake in Japan, it was the power Tsunami, no one knows just how mother nature’s fury is felt in spite of our efforts to learn about mother nature. The magnitude of destructions might be different, but the pain and sufferings are still the same.
I feel very deeply inside when these events happen around the world. Some of them cheer me up, some of them take me to more thinking on how a digitally connected world can be used to be there for anyone from any corner of the world at any time – not only to rejoice when the occasion calls for it but also to render help when we need to deal with the challenges of the nature.
Does the next society as a connected society has got answers? Is there way in which COL can facilitate this process? I beginning to feel that it is possible in all likelyhood. Not only it is possible, it can happen.
