Rich Human Experience

Following up on my previous blog, I had this awakening that made me very cognizant of today’s world deprived of rich human experience from those bygone era of early 20th century. Is it too late to bring them back in the early 21st century – I don’t think so.

Summing up by growing up without the assistance from technological gadgets, I believe the experience I carry throughout my life can never make me alone in this world. It is this singular benefit that is so grandiose in scale, I believe that it will put all perceived psychological issues of the modern world to dust. It is this richness of experiences of many around me is what is making me believe that we are all connected in spite of feeling lonely. But how do we unmask the effects of technology to understand that? How do we unmask the effects of the world that has shrunk to understand that? How do we bring that rich human experience to today’s world and why?

We are affected both emotionally and intellectually when some event happens, even if the event has occurred thousands of miles away. Why so? It is the effect of this connected world where news travels around the world in seconds. It is this technology that is making it happen. We are prepared to do something about it while forgetting what we should be doing in our immediate neighborhood. Why so?

The meaning of this neighborhood has changed over a period of time and what it meant several decades ago is not the same now. While promoting an individualistic society, we have also promoted community groups addressing specific needs of the community. However, with changing times these community groups needs to change to embrace the new outlook and expectations to be in a position to contribute in ways that are in accordance with the changing times and needs. If this does not happen, the community groups will lose their edge to provide that missing rich human experience.

How else can we get this rich human experience? I think not on Facebook or any such social media. They provide connectivity, but sharing without feeling is like losing the strengths that can be derived from one of the most pivotal experiences to experience that rich human experience – Touch.

The best place for such Touch experiences would be places like Churches, Temples, Mosques having the powers of healing while providing that rich human experience. However, this power of healing might be difficult to achieve at game arcades and other centers in spite of their entertainment values.

Well I think you might have got the sniff of the places I might list here for rich human experiences. Sports centers and events, Cultural centers and events do provide specific entertainment values which are rich in human experience. I hesitate to list movie centers as they do not provide a place to gather after the movies to generally talk about the experience. Even though movies act like conduits to transfer rich human experiences, they are increasingly moving away from that. With the advent of technology the movies are going places to create out of the world experiences, thus failing to act as a conduit to transfer those rich human experiences.

I would like to hear from those who have read this to answer this question: Where else we can find such rich human experiences? I am thinking, why not make a movement out of this to move the world on a much happier front to a much believable world that our future generations can enjoy and look forward to?
